The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi has commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the quality of work done on Kabba Township.
Oba Owoniyi, who made the remark during a tour of the ongoing rehabilitation of the township road expressed satisfaction with the work done so far.
The Obaro commended the government for successfully completing the first phase of the reconstruction works. He thanked the contractors for a job well done and pleaded with the government to mobilize the contractors to enable them commence work on the second phase of the road reconstruction project.
While receiving the Obaro at the site, a representative of the construction firm handling the project promised that the company would do a good job as soon as they were mobilized for the take off of the second phase of the contract.
The Obaro was also told that efforts were in top gear to complete the paper work on the Obaro’s Palace Road, the roads in the College of Education (Technical) and the recently surveyed ten 10 kilometer Iyah-Kakun road.
Oba Owoniyi also visited the Kabba Government Reservation Area (GRA) sites of the reconstruction of roads facilitated by the member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Teejay Yusuf.
The Royal Father praised the Federal Lawmaker for remembering Kabba in his constituency projects and commended the high standard of the job done by the contractor.
Meanwhile, Work will kick off on Thursday on the N400 million contract awarded by the Federal Government for the control of erosion at Odolu and the Obaro Palace road in Kabba. The contract awarded by the Ecological Fund is expected to be completed in two months.
The representative of the contracting firm, Engr. Haruna Musa Agaie made this known in Kabba on Tuesday while briefing the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi who visited the erosion sites as part of a tour of the Kabba township roads being reconstructed by the state government.
Engr. Agaie, while thanking the Royal Father for the warm reception accorded his team by the Kabba community, assured that the company would do a thorough job and assured the Traditional Ruler that the pains occasioned by the problem of erosion in the affected areas would become a thing of the past when the job is completed.
The Obaro was accompanied on the visit by the Oba of Odolu, Oba Joseph Ajayi Osatuyi, the Obajana of Oweland, Chief Funsho Olorunfemi and other high chiefs.
