Kogi State Government To Empower Over 250 Youths in CNG Conversion, welding... Vocational Skills

….DG Research and Development Lauds Initiatives as Commitment to Youth Empowerment.

The Kogi State Government, through the Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme (OYESA), is set to train over 250 youths from all 21 Local Government Areas of the state in key vocational skills such as CNG conversion, welding, plumbing, and more at the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute. The programme approved by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, will be overseen by the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Hon. Sunday Faleke, with support from the State Ministry of Education led by Hon. Wemi Jones. It is scheduled to commence soon, with the aim of quickly empowering the participating youth for self-employment.

Analyzing the initiative, the Director General, Research and Development, Kogi State, Barr Moses Okezie-Okafor lauded the Ododo administration for its visionary commitment to youth empowerment. This development, according to him, reflects the state’s dedication to enhancing sustainable skills and creating meaningful opportunities for its young citizens.

Speaking to Kogipedia, the Research Expert emphasized that The Ododo Youth Empowerment program represents a significant step toward tackling youth unemployment in Kogi State and beyond. He posits that by equipping the next generation with high-demand technical skills, the program addresses both unemployment and societal restiveness, positioning Kogi youths as key contributors to National development.

The seasoned attorney commented that the laudable initiative is squarely in line with the strategic policy objectives of the Ododo Administration in Kogi State and a fitting complement to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Transformative Agenda. According to him, it is a reflection of the power of synergy amongst the federating units in governance.
