Kogi Guber: Moses Okezie Congratulates Gov Ododo, Calls for Unity Among Political Actors

The Director General of Research and Development, Kogi State, Barr. Moses Okezie-Okafor, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Governor of Kogi State, on the Supreme Court’s judgement that unequivocally reaffirmed his victory at the Kogi State Governorship Elections held on November 11 last year.

Barr. Okezie-Okafor lauded the apex court for its steadfast commitment to justice and the rule of law, highlighting that the verdict not only reinforces the integrity of Nigeria’s judicial system but also strengthens the democratic fabric of Kogi State. “The Supreme Court has once again demonstrated its role as the guardian of our constitution, ensuring that the people’s mandate is upheld with fairness and impartiality,” he remarked.

This judicial endorsement, according to the DG, is a significant milestone for Kogi State, paving the way for the Governor to focus as promised on consolidation of the landmark achievements initiated by the past administration of former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, in which he was also a notable player.

“Governor Ododo’s administration, though still in its early stages, has already begun to build on the foundation laid by its predecessor, with remarkable strides in all sectors, but particularly in agricultural development, education, civil service and pensions, healthcare, and of course, the economy. These efforts have set the tone for a prosperous future for the state and its people,” he posited.

In light of this victory, Barr. Okezie-Okafor called for unity among the citizens and political actors of Kogi State. “All transitions are tough – for persons, how much more polities. Win or lose, it is congratulations to all Kogites’. He noted that gubernatorial politics is over and that now is the time for governance. ‘It is time for this heavily endowed state to come together, set aside differences, and work together on potentiating her stunning array of both human and natural potentials. The challenges ahead require collective effort and a shared vision”, he advised.

To the senior lawyer and administration research expert, yesterday’s judgement represents the irrevocable mandate this administration needs to ramp up delivery of its innovative policies, programmes and projects as documented in her governance blueprints.

He therefore prayed the Almighty God to bless Governor Ododo with His divine wisdom and health to enable him lead this great state.’
